 Planning to install your hardwood floor yourself?

Although we do not recommend trying to install your new floors yourself

We know there are a lot of you that may be interested in sweating out the installation yourself to save a few bucks.

There are some Flooring products that are in general easy to work with and install for the homeowner.

A Site Finished Hardwood Floor is not one of them.  It takes craftsmen years to develop the touch necessary to expertly sand and finish a Hardwood floor.  I would highly recommend that you do not try and do this yourself unless you are very handy and have prior wood working and wood finishing experience.

Pre-finished Hardwood Floor installation on the other hand can be done by the motivated homeowner.  It is a labor intensive project but does not require the special sanding equipment or experience in finishing wood.  The tools that are required are very basic and can typically be found in any do-it yourselfers garage...with the exception of the flooring nailer that can be rented at any local Hardware store. 

We at Moore Floors, Inc tip our caps to all of you do-it-yourselfers out there and wish you the best of luck on the project.

We do offer Hardwood flooring installation/sanding-finishing consultations if you would like a crash course training session before you get started or if you get stuck in the middle of your project.

The fee is $ 100.00 (cash only) for pre-finished installations or installations of raw wood**

and $ 150.00 (cash only) for sanding and finishing or re-finishing projects.**

The training sessions take about an hour and includes and instruction guides for the particular installation or sanding/finishing.

Remember You are doing it yourself.  We will not come out to run any machine for you or nail in any wood for you.  The consultation is simply to show you the proper techniques and tricks of the trade to help expedite your Hardwood Floor Installation or Sanding and Finishing Project and help to answer any questions that you may have about your specific project.  We also do not provide you any tools.  The consultation is limited to about an hour... it could be a little more or a little less depending on your skill level and project.  The fee is non-refundable and is due at the door before we will start the training session.
